PHILIPSBURG:--- The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) proudly underscores the importance of continuous investment in the education and development of police personnel. This commitment aligns with the strategic objectives outlined in the year plan of the Board of Police Chiefs (College van Korpschefs) for the Dutch Caribbean police forces.
From November 19 - 22, Sint Maarten hosted the meeting of the training coordinators of all police forces within the Kingdom and an education conference with all police forces, police training institutes from CuraƧao, Aruba, and the Netherlands, and the Royal Military Police represented. During these meetings, developments in cooperation regarding training within the region were discussed, and agreements were made regarding training for officers of the police forces within the Kingdom. As a result, in 2025, training in the areas of criminal investigations, leadership, and local spearheads, such as mental health and operational police skills, will be implemented. The conference served as a platform for further collaboration, emphasizing the shared commitment to professional excellence and the enhancement of police operations.
Also celebrated this week was the successful completion of leadership training by a select group of officers from the police forces within the Kingdom. The two-level training program, which took almost a year to complete, focused on two crucial aspects: the officers' Personal Development Plans (POP) and the implementation of project-based work.
KPSM congratulates all the officers who earned certificates from this transformative training. Their dedication and hard work exemplify the high standards of professionalism and integrity to which KPSM aspires.
KPSM continues to prioritize initiatives like this to strengthen its organization and ensure that officers are equipped with the resources and skills needed to serve the community effectively.
